Yumi is a liaison who uses her experience to connect various areas of business. Her native Japanese background (born and raised in Osaka) as well as her U.S experience (20+ years as a resident) allows her to connect Japan and the world. Experience

After starting her career at Aceto Corporation in pharmaceutical active ingredients and intermediates for small molecule new drugs, she worked at various Japanese chemical manufacturers such as Sumika Fine Chemicals, KNC Laboratories, and Sekisui Medical. While at Nagase America, she was involved with business development in extensive fields including biofuel industry, pharmaceutical unnatural amino acids, generics, excipients, animal health, medical reagents, devices, equipment, industrial biotechnology, and 3D printing technology.
 
More than 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical field have made her an expert on key issues in drug development such as GMP, ISO, and CMC for FDA submission along with assisting audits in Japanese factories. ​She graduated from the Japan Medical College with a government-issued certificate for medical technician and BS in organic chemistry from Hunter College.
